Wade Martinez

Founder & Program Director

 

Coach Wade was a catcher at Cy-Fair High School and Southwestern University.  After graduating from college,  he returned to his Landscape and Irrigation business in Spring, Texas that he founded in 1988.  He also continued to play baseball as an ametuer for nearly twenty years. He competed in tournaments around the country winning numerous titles and finishing second in the 18U+ Open Division World Series in Arizona.  As a Scorpions Coach he has led his teams to dozens of Championships, 11 World Series victories and the 2021 12U Cooperstown World Series Title.  Today, he continues helping players in various coaching roles, works with High School Players and their college recruiting process, is a Certified Youth Exercise Specialist, serves on both the Scorpions Baseball Club and Scorpions Scholarship Foundation Boards, and more.

Jason Washburn

Director of Player Development

 

Prior to joining Scorpions Baseball, Coach Washburn was the Director of Baseball Operations at Sam Houston State University. Before joining the Bearkats, he was the head baseball coach at College Park (for 14 years), Spring and Willis High Schools. He also coached the 15U USA National Team to a Gold Medal in 2015. He played college ball at Texas A&M.

Vincent Moore

Hitting Coordinator

 

Coach Moore was drafted in the 5th round of the MLB Draft out of High School. His 14-Year professional playing career included time with the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres organizations. After his playing career ended, he landed professional coaching positions here he was twice recognized as Manager of the Year.

 

In 2012, he joined, helped grow and coached at one of Houston's biggest Select Baseball Organizations. After 10 years there, he is regarded by many as one of the best coaches in Travel Baseball. He relates to his players, has a professional demeanor and possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience to help young athletes.

Christian Caudle

Catching Coordinator

 

Coach Christian played his collegiate career at Texas A&M Kingsville while earning his degree in finance. As a standout catcher, he earned multiple all conference team selections and in 2018 was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Danny Crawford

Director of Elite Experiences

 

Coach Crawford played and earned 1st-Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-American Honors at the University of Houston and Seminole Jr. College before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played his High School Career where he was stand-out receiveng all-district, all Greater Houston and All State awards. Out of High School, he was first drafted by the Toronto Bluejays, but elected to earn his education before pursing his MLB dreams.

He has a passions for making things right and his attention to detail make him a huge asset in managing Scorpions Ranch Experiences.

Tanner Lawson

Pitching Coordinator

Specialization: Pitching, Arm Care, Speed, Agility and Strength Training

 

Coach Tanner played at University of Houston and St. Edward's University where he studied kinesiology. He was drafted in 2018  (21st round) by the Atlanta Braves. He pitched the 2018 season with the Danville Braves and posted a 3.60 ERA with 29 innings, 31 strikeouts, and only 5 walks. 

Keeon Johnson

Athletic Development Coordinator

Coach Keeon played football at The University of New Mexico State prior to a professional career in both Europe and in the Arena Football League. Today he holds numerous certifications in the fitness world from both ACE and ISSA. 

​

More than a decade ago he turned his focus to training baseball players.  His list of professional  players that he has trained includes: Jordan Hicks, Austin Dean, CJ Hinojosa and more.

Preston White

Pitching Instructor

 

Coach Preston was an All-Conference college player before being drafted by the LA Dodgers in 2017 as an outfielder.  He declined the offer and 1-year later was drafted by the San Fransico Giants as a pitcher.  After two years into his professional baseball career, he voluntarily retired and began his life after playing baseball with his new family.  Today, he lives in Katy with his wife, daughter and baby on the way.  

Adria Martinez

Marketing and Technology Director

 

As a 15-year old, Adria received a full volleyball scholarship to Rice University. As a Student-Athlete at Rice studying sports management, she helped lead the Owls past the #3 Texas Longhorns and land the Rice Volleyball Program in the top 25 for the first time in program history. 

​

In addition to leading the IT and Marketing for Scorpions Ranch, she also services as the HS Program liaison.
